Air France-KLM staff launch court action

AIR France-KLM staff in Pakistan have launched a court case against the carrier over the loss of their jobs and retirement benefits.

The Franco-Dutch airline plans to wind up its operations there due to airline’s weak financial situation.

However, workers claim the termination and severance settlement they have been offered contravenes the company’s own regulations.

As a result of the action, the carrier has suspended the closure of its office until the next hearing, scheduled for 20 April.

Workers were sent a termination notice signed by Air France-KLM’s general manager, Frederic Gossot (based in Dubai), along with a separate letter informing them that general sales agent Gerry’s would absorb them.
