BRITISH Airways World Cargo has announced a reduction to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.84/US$1.30/€1.30, with effect from 21 August, 2008.

The fuel surcharge reduction follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 26 threshold. The index was developed by BAWC to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges.

Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: “High fuel prices remain a very real challenge for the industry. However, recent weeks have seen some relief with prices falling, triggering a decrease in our fuel surcharge in line with the index.”
