Boeing deliveries up orders down

BOEING has reported that deliveries of its aircraft grew slightly in May but this was brought low by orders falling heavily.

The manufacturer delivered 41 aircraft in May, up from 40 during the same time in 2008. However, it received only 20 orders in May, which is down from 67 in May 2008.

Boeing says it remains optimistic that it will be able to deliver all scheduled orders this year, perhaps due to the many customers that have deferred deliveries into next year and beyond.
