Boeing delivers 777Fs to China Southern

CHINA Southern Airlines has finally taken delivery of two 777 freighters it had on order, doubling its freight capacity. The carrier was due to accept the two aircraft earlier this year but had asked Boeing to immediately put them in desert storage because of the slump in demand for cargo. Now demand, especially as exports from China, is slowly picking up.The two freighters will fly to Chicago and Frankfurt from Guangzhou.China Southern still has another four 777Fs on order and now plans to take delivery of them all by 2011.“We’re working with China Southern to deliver the airplanes on a delivery schedule that best fits their fleet requirements,” said Boeing spokesman Jim Proulx.
