CAS gears up for next phase portal

CARGO Airport Services USA, North America’s largest ground-handling company, will roll out the second phase of its customer service portal in early 2012.

ePic 1, which has been running since October 2010, brings IT solutions including shipment track and trace, online payment of terminal service charges, and automated cargo status notification to over 30 freight forwarders.

The next phase, ePic 2, will facilitate the cross-over to e-freight, eliminating all paperwork. The new phase will also offer FWB/FHL message creation and transmission for easy integration with airline systems. This feature will be linked with the US Customs export AES system.

In addition, ePic 2 will introduce mobile devices into the warehouse operation connecting cargo and data together, optimising the processes between the documentation department and the warehouse.
