Cathay free from Philippines charges

THE Philippines’ supreme court ruled in favour of Cathay Pacific Airways in a case brought against it by cargo and warehousing company, People’s Air Cargo (PAC). PAC claimed that Cathay breached a contract over storage of cargo at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The case has been flying between judges and courts but this is the final ruling.

PAC alleged that there was a contract between the two companies, which was valid for 10 years from June 1997 to May 2007. Cathay denied this and the supreme court concurs.
