Celtic Forwarding awarded AEO status

IRELAND’S Celtic Forwarding has become the first Irish logistics company to achieve official European authorised economic operator (AEO) status.

Countries within the EU can grant the AEO status to any economic operator that meets stringent customs compliance, keeps appropriate record-keeping, proves its financial solvency and, where relevant, maintains adequate security and safety standards. AEO status thus allows the company to move goods effectively across EU borders.

AEO status will also become more important once e-freight becomes more prevalent.
