Circle takes carbon footprint seriously

CIRCLE express is taking its carbon footprint seriously ensuring its corporate fleet in excess of 100 vehicles, for the airfreight industry, are compliant with CO2 emissions control ahead of schedule.

Its Heathrow-based fleet is 100 per cent compliant with new legislation – some of which is not effective until July of this year. It is also 85 per cent compliant of legislation that is not effective until 2012. At the same time, corporately, 64 per cent of its total fleet across the country is also compliant. The remainder will comply well ahead of the 2012 deadline.

Circle’s fleet director Nick Hedderly, said: “Circle has been pre-emptive at every stage of new and changing legislation in ensuring its fleet is always compliant, starting with Euro3, which is okay until 2012, at which time Euro 4 takes over. Legislation changes again (estimated 2016) and to remain compliant then, Euro 5 must be implemented. This means our vast numbers of airfreight customers, particularly those around Heathrow, may be assured that their collections and deliveries are being moved in vehicles that do not harm the environment.”
