Cobalt Air appoints AIA Cargo as worldwide GSA

Cyprus-based airline Cobalt Air has appointed Airbridge International Agencies (AIA Cargo) as its worldwide cargo general sales agent (GSA).
A spokesperson for the low cost carrier said: "The appointment marks another positive milestone in the development of Cobalt Air, Cyprus’ fastest growing airline, and will enable the airline to generate additional revenues across its growing network by maximising the use of its aircraft cargo hold."
Cobalt Air operates scheduled services using a fleet of six Airbus A319s and A320s from its home base at Larnaca to airports in Greece, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Israel, Ireland, and France. It has recently announced flights to Iran.
AIA Cargo will focus on building new business for both Cobalt Air and for Cyprus, generating new revenue opportunities by transporting general and special cargo, mail, as well as pets from across the airline’s network, using the Larnaca base for both imports and exports, as well as a hub connecting the Cobalt Air international network.
AIA Cargo will oversee all areas of the cargo business including marketing, sales, reservations, handling and all cargo interline agreements and its main focus will be on maximising new revenue opportunities for Cobalt Air.
Cobalt Air chief executive Andrew Madar said: “This new partnership with AIA Cargo, allows us to build revenue opportunities through import and export, and maximising Cyprus as a hub between Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Europe.” 
Ben Leon, vice president at AIA Cargo, added: “Our offices across Cobalt Air’s existing and future destinations are already at work to build this new cargo product to help build Cobalt Air’s business.
"In addition to our Cargo GSA services, our friendly and experienced Pet Travel and Relocation service, AIA Pets will assist all four legged travellers to travel safely and comfortably on Cobalt Air."
