DAMCO’s new appointments in Latin America

A SERIES of new senior appointments have strengthened global forwarder Damco’s presence in Latin America.
The expansion is part of the company’s continued investment in the emerging markets of Latin America, the company says.
Stefan Bengtsson has joined as chief finance officer (CFO) for Latin America and is based at Panama City. A Swedish national, he was previously CFO for Kuehne & Nagel in Brazil.
In another move, Sune Stilling has transferred from his role as managing director for West Africa to the position of chief operating officer for Latin America, also based in Panama. Sune has 14 years of experience in various positions in Africa, Europe and Asia with the AP Moller-Maersk group.
David Juarez has been appointed regional vertical head of retail and lifestyle for Latin America. He previously worked for Damco in Spain and has occupied senior commercial and management positions in the shipping and forwarding industry over the last 13 years.
Enrique Fajardo has joined as managing director for the Andean cluster, consisting of Colombia and Ecuador. He has worked in the logistics and transportation industry for more than 18 years and will continue to be based in Colombia.
The company’s regional chief executive, Humberto Florez comments: “Latin America is a major emerging market 
for Damco and we will ambitiously grow our customer base here. I am confident that these new appointees will further significantly boost our presence in the region.”
