FedEx ups support of Duke of Edinburgh Award charity

FedEx Express has stepped up its sponsorship of Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award charity to become a gold partner.
Though its sponsorship, FedEx Express is supporting the charity’s Diamond Anniversary Ambition to encourage two million more young people to a DofE award by 2020.
DofE Awards are given to young people aged from 14-24 that have demonstrated new skills and commitment. The awards are valued by employers as they demonstrate the young persons’ commitment to developing themselves.
Each young person doing their DofE controls their journey, setting their own challenges and targets, pushing personal boundaries and gaining meaningful experiences.
In addition to its wider involvement, FedEx Express is also the Headline Sponsor of the DofE’s spectacular “star studded” ‘Diamonds are Forever’ Gala evening, which will take place at the iconic Stoke Park in June, with over 600 guests in attendance.
The volunteer efforts and local community investments that FedEx team members identify and drive are part of the company’s wider commitment to investing $200m in more than 200 global communities by 2020.
“As a DofE Gold Partner, we are working together with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to support and empower young people from all backgrounds, giving them a sense of purpose and self-belief. Joining forces with the DofE, we aim to provide a path for them to learn the necessary skills to succeed in their chosen career,” said Brenda McWilliams-Piatek, vice president, marketing, FedEx Express Europe.
