FPS appoints customer service manager

FPS AUSTRALIA – a founder member of the FPS Group of independent forwarders and consolidators – has appointed Andy Johnson as its customer service manager for its Sydney office.
Johnson’s freight career spans more than 24 years in a variety of specialisms including supply chain, procurement and project management roles, working in the multimodal forwarding and logistics sectors.
Johnson has worked for IEC Europe – a subsidiary of International Express Co (Tokyo) – one of the largest freight forwarders in the Far East.
As the company’s branch operations and aviation security manager in the UK, his responsibilities included managing its air, ocean, perishables, road and warehouse operations.
Johnson also handled procurement, supply chain management and operations at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, for global broadcasters including the BBC, NHK, TV Asahi, JFC, Japan Broadcasting and Japan Telecom.
Sam Aparo, FPS Australia director, comments: “We welcome Andy to Australia, and to our fast-growing business.
“With his strong track-record serving the exacting needs of the international broadcast media sector, and his hands-on knowledge of the industry outside Australia, he will play a key role in further strengthening our customer service function.”
FPS Australia celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year: the company opened its first office, in Sydney, in 1994 – one of the earliest branches in the entire FPS network.
