HNA’s class cargo ACT

CHINA’s HNA Group and Bravia Capital have bought Turkey-based ACT Airlines.

HNA plans to capitalise on growing Eurasian cargo traffic and will add up to 15 freighters to its new carrier’s fleet by 2013.

ACT has been rebranded MyCargo Airlines and will be operated under HNA’s logistics arm, Grand China Logistics Group, which boasts assets of more than US$7 billion.

Bravia and HNA will purchase or lease 747-400 freighter aircraft this year to MyCargo’s existing six-strong fleet of A300 freighters. A further 10 A300-600 freighters and three additional 747-400 freighters over the next two years will lift the fleet.

HNA operates seven airlines, eight shipping lines and a major port facility at Tianjin in China.
