Hong Kong Airlines receives new A330-200F

HONG Kong Airlines has taken delivery of a new A330-200 freighter from Aircastle. The freighter is the first of three that will be on a 12-year lease from Aircastle. The expected delivery dates of the remaining two are in late 2010 and early 2011.

“The A330-200F will enable Hong Kong Airlines to enter the dedicated cargo market with the most efficient aircraft available today in its class,” said Yang Jian Hong, president, Hong Kong Airlines.

“We are pleased to capitalise on the strong recovery in the air cargo market with the delivery of the first freighter aircraft in our A330 programme,” added Ron Wainshal, chief executive officer of Aircastle. “The A330-200F’s extended payload range and low operating costs make it the best aircraft in its class. We believe the Airbus A330 freighter is a great long-term investment, and completing this delivery and the related financing represents another important milestone for our A330 program.”
