IAG Cargo expands services to Mexico City

IAG Cargo is increasing frequency on its London Heathrow to Mexico City route.
An additional weekly flight will provide extra capacity to this strategic market, with the new service set to begin on Sunday April 27.
The expanded schedule will now see flights per week increasing from five to six.
Rodrigo Casal, regional commercial manager for Latin America at IAG Cargo, comments: “With the increasing importance of emerging markets, it is essential that we provide enough capacity to serve these key areas and support our customers’ future growth.
“The additional flight, which is to be served by a B747, will see a 20 per cent boost in airfreight capacity for our customers as well as increasing the level of flexibility for global businesses in this region.”
These flights are also key to the transportation of one of Mexico’s significant exports – perishables. The route allows perishable foodstuffs, such as berries, papayas and mangoes, to be delivered rapidly to many European export destinations including Amsterdam, Paris and Madrid.
