IAG Cargo extends ‘Cargo Connector’ to Seattle and Houston

IAG CARGO is extending Cargo Connector – a service offering to collect and deliver items weighing less than 300 kilos – to airports in Seattle and Houston.
The service allows forwarders to book cargo at short notice, and removes the need for them to pay for their own driver and truck, which can prove costly during busy periods, say a company statement.
Security screening can also be arranged as required.
“We’ve been delighted by its success in the USA. Our launch cities of Chicago, New York and Los Angeles are now experiencing high levels of demand for the service – word is spreading fast,” enthuses Joe LeBeau, IAG Cargo’s regional commercial manager for North America.
“Indeed so high is demand for the service in Houston and Seattle, we decided to launch it fully after just three weeks of a trial [period].”
It is a little over 18 months since IAG Cargo launched Cargo Connector but it has become a massive success – both in the USA and beyond, he points out.
The service is available at seven American airports: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta, along with Seattle and Houston.
It is also available at IAG Cargo’s UK hub operation at London Heathrow.
“Cargo Connector is ideal for businesses of any kind looking to ship low-weight cargo, but we have found it has also been particularly popular for high-value goods, as well as for the online retail and electronics industries in Seattle and Houston,” LeBeau adds.
At Chicago, the service has just added an additional van to its fleet to keep up with customer orders.
