JetBlue to ship Alaska freight

IN the US, freight forwarding and integrated logistics company Lynden International will now ship cargo on JetBlue Airways, which has started flights from Long Beach, California, to Anchorage, Alaska.

Lynden will primarily use JetBlue to move fish and other perishables. The deal comes as existing carriers have cut their flights due to bad economy.

JetBlue is looking to ship 2.8 to 3.6 metric tonnes worth of cargo per flight. The flights into Anchorage will only run until 5 September.
