KN improve cool chain quality

KUEHNE + Nagel has gained Envirotainer’s QEP accreditation at more than 50 key airfreight stations across the world, including major pharmaceutical and healthcare hubs. The company is the first global logistics provider to have this certification in place on such a scale.
“Kuehne + Nagel is committed to meeting the stringent regulatory and quality requirements of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. With QEP certification at major hubs in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, we are capable of providing our customers with audited service and reliability levels for their temperature-sensitive products,” said Marcel Fujike, K+N’s vice-president product management and business development global airfreight.
The Qualified Envirotainer Provider (QEP) programme, was developed by Envirotainer to enhance the quality levels in cold chain management in the air forwarding industry. Last June, K+N was the first logistics provider to announce QEP certification at multiple stations (29) and has now expanded this to most of the world’s key pharma and healthcare hubs. In 2008, the company plans to add some 10 further stations, including South America and Africa.
Fujike added: “By combining our QEP capabilities with our worldwide Cargo 2000-based airfreight product range, our customers can enjoy an undisputed industry-leading service package in terms of shipment care, planning and control, and deliver reliability.”
