KN New Logistics Centre at Bielefeld

IN the presence of numerous customers and business partners Horst Grube, Mayor of the City of Bielefeld and Klaus-Michael Kuehne, executive chairman of the K+N International AG Board of Directors, officially opened the company’s new logistics centre. K+N is consolidating its Bielefeld branch activities, previously located at two separate sites.

With regard to the increases in national and international cargo flows, the location is proving itself as an ideal logistics hub.

“The commissioning of this state-of-the-art logistics facility, underpins Kuehne+ Nagel’s growth strategy in Bielefeld, a location that for many decades has played an important role in our activities in Germany,” said Kuehne. “Furthermore, the centre testifies to the successful merger of two complementary companies under one brand. Our customers benefit from a comprehensive, integrated logistics offering and efficient management of operational processes. With our premium logistics service, we are making our contribution to the strengthening of the business location Bielefeld and Ostwestfalen region.”

Thanks to the constructive and targeted cooperation of all parties involved, we have succeeded in realising this impressive project in less than a year. 450 jobs is a formidable number at this location, and I am very pleased about the fact that largely local companies were contracted for the construction work.”
