Korean Air eyes Uzbekistan

ONE of the world’s largest cargo carriers, Korean Air, will soon begin shipping airfreight through Navoi international airport (Uzbekistan) to Hanoi (Vietnam), Riga (Latvia), and Shanghai (China).

Korean Air president Chi Chang Hoon met with the Uzbek Foreign Ministry to discuss the deal.

Over 80 flights a week are carried out through Navoi Airport to such cities as Bangkok (Thailand), Brussels (Belgium), Delhi (India), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Frankfurt (Germany), Istanbul (Turkey), Milan (Italy), Mumbai (India), Seoul (South Korea) and Zaragoza (Spain). Over 90,000 metric tonnes of cargo was transported between June 2009 to July 2011 at the airport.
