Malaysia targets ex-MAS Tajudin for corruption

A NEW investigation is being launched into Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) ex-chairman Tan Sri Tajudin Ramli over allegations of cargo corruption.
Tan Sri Dr Hadenan Abdul Jalil of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said: “In view of new evidence surfacing, investigations are under process.”
He denied that MACC had “swept the matter under the carpet” and confirmed new witnesses had come forward.
MACC has been trying to successfully prosecute the well-protected Tajudin ever since MAS reported him to the MACC in 2005. MAS claims he, former MASkargo vice-president Ralph Manfred Gotz, ex-MAS consultant Uwe Juergen Beck and ex-director Wan Aishah Wan Hamid, had been involved in management and financial irregularities costing the company millions of dollars, notably at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.
