MASKargo will fly to US again

MALAYSIA Airlines Cargo (MASkargo) says it is planning to restart freight operations to the US in July. This will be the first time that the Malaysian cargo carrier has served the US since 2001.

The move follows MASkargo’s signing of a leasing agreement for three 747 freighters with Southern Air.

Managing director, Shahari Sulaiman, said likely destinations would be Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.

“Through this agreement our capacity has increased. After looking at the US market very carefully and through this we can find a viable plan with Southern Air to enter US market through China,” he said.

MASkargo is currently operating two 747-400F freighters.
