Maximus signs Etihad contract

MAXIMUS Air Cargo has signed a contract with Etihad to operate seven freighter flights a week between the Middle East, India and East Africa. It will add China, Italy and Libya in September.

Maximus will use two Airbus A300-600RFs aircraft flying between Bangalore, Chennai, Colombo, Dubai and Nairobi, and after acquiring another A300-600RF adding Addis Ababa, Calcutta, Dacca, Guangzhou, Khartoum, Milan and Tripoli from September.

Fathi Buhazza, Maximus Air Cargo’s president and chief executive officer, said: “This additional contract work will increase Maximus’s fleet to nine all-cargo aircraft and will further reduce the average age of the Airbus A300 fleet to a remarkable 8.6 years.”

James Hogan, chief executive officer of Etihad Airways, said, “This contract is about flying close to 600 hours a month with the two Airbus A300 cargo aircraft on a tight, fine-tuned schedule. Maximus was selected for its ability and proven record of reliability in high utilisation aircraft lease operations.”
