MK Airlines enters liquidation

UK-based MK Airlines, forced from the skies earlier this year, has entered liquidation with John Alexander of Carter Baker Winter and Stephen Katz of David Rubin & Partners being named joint liquidators.

The cargo carrier was had been struggling financially for several years prior to entering administration for the second time earlier this year.

Launching in 1990, at the end of its life its fleet included eight 747 aircraft and three 727

Alexander said: “We will be moving quickly to ascertain the exact asset position and we are currently engaging with the secured creditors, airports/landlords and former insolvency office holders. Unsecured creditors will be contacted in due course.”

Katz added: “This case represents an exceptionally complex challenge.”
