New COO for DHL Global Forwarding

DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Paul Schwefer (right), former chief information officer at tyre-company, Continental, as its new chief operating officer.

Effective 15 September, Paul Schwefer (right) will assume responsibility for IT and performance management. He also will be in charge of the New Forwarding Environment (NEF) project, which aims to bring the company’s business processes and systems in line with future market requirements.

“We have set ourselves challenging targets for the years ahead to provide our customers with better information solutions for transport management and, at the same time, reduce our costs per file,” said Hermann Ude, chief executive officer of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight and member of the board of Deutsche Post DHL group. “Paul’s experience will help us reach these targets more quickly and with a lower implementation risk.”

Meanwhile, Scott Price, chief executive officer of DHL Express Europe has resigned. Ken Allen, Express’ global chief executive officer, takes over in the interim.
