New Portugese entrant ready to receive first aircraft

BEFORE the end of the year Europe will have a new name in main-deck ACMI provision.Portugal-based euroAtlantic, already established as an ACMI provider in the passenger market, will expand into the freighter world with the delivery of its first B767-300BDSF.IAI Bedek has completed the conversion of the aircraft, the first of its type, and the first flight took place on 27 October. The conversion programme was developed by Bedek for M&B Conversions, which itself is a joint-venture company belonging to Mitsui of Japan and IAI Bedek.“We know that IAI has the important experience and quality we are looking for, which was the main reason we chose to work with them. The timing and the price were also important factors,” said euroAtlantic vice-president Euclides Batalha.
