- ETIHAD Airways will add seven weekly flights from Abu Dhabi to Australia from March next year. It already operates 21 a week to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane but the new deal between the two governments stipulates that one of the seven new flights must be to an as-yet-unnamed regional airport.
- Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific is to add a fourth weekly cargo flight to Miami and onto Latin America using a 747-400 freighter. However, Cathay has 10 747-800Fs on order and will swap to those when they are delivered.
- Siberia’s Yakutia will make Germany’s Hanover Airport its first Western European destination. Starting 12 June, a Yakutia 757-200 will connect Hanover and Omsk, Siberia’s second-largest city, four times a week.
- Kingfisher Airlines is to operate seven new international routes. Using an A330 Kingfisher will now fly New Delhi-London and New Delhi-Hong Kong. The flights to Bangkok and Dubai, from both New Delhi and Mumbai, and to Mumbai-Colombo will use A320s.
- Ariana Afghan Airlines has resumed its twice-weekly direct flights from Kabul to Frankfurt. This reduces the flying time due to it previously having to stop in Istanbul. A third flight every week will be added in May.
- Lufthansa Cargo has added a new Aerologic-operated 777 freighter to its weekly cargo service between Atlanta and Frankfurt. Lufthansa Cargo already operates four MD-11 freighters from Atlanta each week.
- From 28 March, Royal Brunei Airlines is to start a four-times-a-week service between the Bandar Seri Begawan and Shanghai.
