New senior vice-president of sales at Etihad

ETIHAD AIRWAYS has appointed James Mueller as senior vice-president of sales.
Mueller, who has more than 20 years experience in the aviation industry, previously worked at United Airlines for five years. During this period, he held a number of senior roles, including vice-president, Asia Pacific and vice-president, Atlantic and Pacific sales.
He was also employed for more than 15 years at Northwest Airlines/Delta Air Lines, where his final position was vice-president, cargo sales.
Mueller’s appointment follows a restructuring of flag carrier of the UAE to form the Etihad Aviation Group.
James Hogan, group president and chief executive of Etihad, comments: “It is important to have focused leadership throughout the new structure and James Mueller is a great example of someone who has delivered superior business results in multi-cultural environments across a range of airline roles. He is a welcome addition to our management team.”
Commenting on his new appointment, Mueller adds: “My interest in aviation extends beyond the 20 years I have spent in the industry, and it’s been hard to ignore the phenomenal growth of Etihad Airways since its launch. 
“With the recent creation of the Etihad Aviation Group, there’s no doubt that future developments will be even more ambitious and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute.”
