Pegasus Cargo takes wing

THREE months in and Pegasus Cargo is firmly establishing itself in Europe’s airfreight market. Operating from its Sabiha Gökçen hub in Turkey to a wide number of points across Europe, Pegasus has strong growth plans for 2009 despite the industry’s continuing economic hardships.

Its fleet currently stands at 10 B737-800s, two B737-500s and two B737-400s, and this will grow to a total of 24 by the end of the year and 40 by 2015.

Pegasus Cargo is also planning to enter domestic and international warehousing and use its B737- 400 for internal domestic transportation.  The plans are also to increase it’s cargo network along the lines of the new Pegasus Airlines routes launching in summer 2009, including Istanbul – Elaz??, Bodrum – London, Istanbul – Berlin, Istanbul – Krasnodar, Istanbul – Brussels and Istanbul – Paris.

Aydin Alpa, Pegasus cargo manager describes the company’s mission as providing “affordable high-quality service and to continually provide constructive solutions and sound alternatives. Our growing market share in the sector demonstrates that we are pursuing the correct strategy. We will continue to pursue on-time delivery as a priority in the future”.
