Probe after cargo aircraft hits bus

A MAJOR investigation is under way after a cargo jet crashed into a mini-bus near Kotoka International Airport (Ghana), killing 10 passengers.
The 727-200F, which had taken off from Lagos (Nigeria), was heading for the Ivory Coast via Accra when it overshot the runway of the city’s airport during heavy rain on Saturday.
All four members of the crew survived the accident. The aircraft – operated by Nigeria-based carrier, Allied Air Cargo – was carrying goods, such as perfume and clothing.
“No early conclusions should be drawn,” says Ghana’s vice-president, John Dramani Mahama. “We should allow investigations to arrive at the actual cause.”
Boeing says its air safety investigation team will assist Ghana Civil Aviation Authority’s investigation.
The company has also offered its “deepest sympathies” to the relatives of the dead.
