Qantas Freight increases trans-Tasman capacity

QANTAS is increasing its trans-Tasman freighter capacity by 40 per cent from February next year.
The carrier will add an ex-All Nippon Airways 767-300F, leased from the Sojitz company of Japan, on its routes from Australia to New Zealand. The freighter replaces the current 767-200F and will be the first Qantas Freight aircraft to be in livery. It will have a cargo capacity of 59 tons.
Qantas Freight also has three 747-400Fs wet-leased from Atlas Air.
Qantas Freight executive manager, Stephen Cleary, said: “The trans-Tasman is one of Qantas Freight’s most important markets and this investment reinforces the commitment we made when we established the freighter operation in 2009. It will provide Australian and New Zealand exporters with more dedicated capacity and even better service reliability.”
