Qantas ready to settle

IT has been reported that Qantas is ready to settle with European and Australian regulators over the price-fixing scandal that has engulfed the industry since a series of worldwide raids were conducted in 2006. The multi-million dollar settlement will follow the US$61 million Qantas paid in the US following a Department of Justice investigation.

It has also been revealed that the EU is ready to begin legal action against 26 airlines allegedly involved in the case. A number of airlines have already entered plea bargain agreements in an attempt to limit the fines that are likely to run into hundreds of millions of Euros.
