SASI and UAC promote Russian freighters

THE double domination of aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing could be put to the test with a new Russian freighter drive.

While the likes of Air Bridge Cargo and Volga-Dnepr are expanding their networks Strategic Aviation Solutions International (SASI) and Russia’s state-owned aircraft manufacturing giant United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Russian-built freighter aircraft around the world.

The deal was made on 16 August at the MAKS 2011 International Aviation & Space Salon in Moscow (Russia).

“The MoU will help provide a springboard for UAC to penetrate the Western market with exciting new products. We believe that by working together we can take great strides forward in the promotion of Russian freighter aircraft around the globe,” managing Partner of SASI Stan Wraight said.

SASI will provide technical advice, development of aircraft specifications, marketing strategy and sophisticated business planning for the Western market.

The solutions provider will give technical consultation to ensure the configuration of the aircraft matches international customer requirements and negotiating with airlines before final design verification.

SASI will also identify select niche markets for the aircraft, initiate purchase negotiations with potential global customers and provide a full corporate planning and promotion strategy.
