Saudia Cargo and AV Cargo move cargo in Lagos

SAUDI Airlines Cargo and MD-11 freighter operator AV Cargo Airlines have agreed a joint co-operation for the movement of cargo to four destinations in West Africa, via Lagos, Nigeria.
Saudia Cargo will benefit from the extension of its network through its cargo hub in Lagos. The agreement means that shipments moved on Saudia B747 freighter services into Lagos are forwarded to AV Cargo-served destinations of Bamako, Freetown, Pointe-Noire and Ouagadougou.
“This agreement provides some fantastic opportunities for both airlines to extend their networks in a complementary manner, benefiting from the strengths of one another,” states Simon Clarke, chief executive of AV Cargo.
The cooperation makes Saudia’s hub in Lagos more attractive, says Peter Scholten, vice-president, commercial at Saudia Cargo. “We can now offer MD-11 main deck capacity to four destinations connecting with our daily B747 freighter service,” he adds.
