Second Exin crash at Tallinn

ESTONIA’S Tallinn Airport was closed last week after a freighter crashed during takeoff.

Erik Sakkov, board member of Tallinn Airport, said: “According to preliminary data, the plane’s chassis broke. Nothing terrible happened, the crew stepped off the plane and our rescuers covered it with foam.”

The An-26 belonged to Polish carrier Exin’s and was carrying cargo for DHL.

This is the second Exin crash at the airport in five months. In March another of the carrier’s An-26s made an emergency landing into the Lake Ülemiste because of an unsafe landing gear.
