Swiss makes Gehrig Jetzer’s replacement

BRUNO Gehrig (right) has been elected chairman of the board at Swiss International Air Lines. He succeeds Rolf Jetzer, who unexpectedly died in September.

“Bruno Gehrig is a highly respected Swiss personality with a proven track record,” said Claudio Generali, deputy chairman of the Swiss Air Transport Foundation. “He has also gained a valuable insight into the relevant issues within the air transport sector over the past few years. As such, he is ideally qualified for his new function at Swiss.”

“I am greatly looking forward to this new challenge,” said Gehrig. “I have come to know and appreciate Swiss and its management in the course of my work for the Swiss Air Transport Foundation. Swiss has positioned itself extremely successfully and ensured its own effective further development within the Lufthansa Group. At the same time, the company – like the entire airline sector – continues to face major challenges and I will now be devoting my efforts and energies to helping us meet and master them.”

The other members of Swiss’ board are Jacques Aigrain, Walter Bosch, Christoph Franz and Stefan Lauer.
