Talks between Atlas and pilots stall

NEGOTIATIONS between Atlas Air Worldwide and its pilots have broken down.

The 800 pilots of Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo have been lobbying to have their contracts combined for nearly two years.

David Bourne, the Teamsters Union’s airline director, said that an arbitrator will now determine the core provisions in the pilots’ contract.

“Pilot morale is at an all time low at Atlas and Polar,” he added. “The company is one of the most profitable airlines in the world, in part, because of lucrative government contracts, but management is putting its past success at risk by refusing to enter into a fair contract with their hardworking pilots who are unified in their demands.”
