Tianjin and Hermes

TIANJIN AirCargo Terminal (TAT), a new Lufthansa Cargo Joint Venture cargo terminal at Tianjin, commenced operations in April 2008 operating a 90,000 m2 freight terminal with capacity for 360,000 tonnes of freight per annum.

TAT managing director, Ulrich Huesson’s positive experience with the Hermes System and the HLT Team, allowed him to feel comfortable in recommending the Hermes System to TAT as a proven state-of-the-art cargo handling system.

With a very demanding timetable, TAT needed to implement a reliable system in their terminal with minimal disruption.

TAT is a joint venture between Taiwan-based Hwa-Hsia International Holdings (49 per cent), Lufthansa Cargo (46 per cent) and Tianjin Airport International Logistics Joint Stock Co (five per cent). For Lufthansa Cargo, this is their third location in China following Shanghai and Shenzhen.
