Weiss-Röhlig Japan acquires JHB Express

WEISS-Röhlig Japan, an international joint venture of Gebrüder Weiss and Röhlig Logistics, has taken over Japanese airfreight and seafreight shipping company JHB Express.

The takeover means Weiss-Röhlig will expand its presence in the Asian market. Osaka, where JHB is located, will become the second pillar of Weiss-Röhlig Japan, next to the headquarters in Tokyo.

The previous owner of JHB, Hikoiku Yoshikawa, will become vice-chairman of Weiss-Röhlig Japan. The Japanese country manager is Kazuyoshi Fujiwara, who has been working for the global network in Japan since 1997. All employees will remain with the company.

“With the acquisition we will gain more stability in Japan,” says Joe Lässer (pictured), director air and sea at Gebrüder Weiss. “In addition to strengthening our intra-Asia traffic our major trading partners in the USA and Europe will benefit from this expansion.”
