Aeronaves orders freighter conversion for its DHL network

Mexican airline Aeronaves TSM has placed an order for an MD-82SF freighter conversion from Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) for its DHL operation.
AEI will start work on the modification at the end of August, with the aircraft due to be re-delivered to Aeronaves in early 2017 to fly for the DHL network in Mexico.
It is the fourth MD-82SF freighter conversion order Aeronaves has placed with AEI.
The conversion will be carried out by AEI’s Commercial Jet in Miami.
Aeronaves is the largest overall operator of AEI’s MD-80SF series freighters, which can carry up to 12 pallets or pallets.
The aircraft is seen as a good replacement for the Boeing 727 freighter and competes with the B737-400SF.
