Air France KLM the latest to expand cargo tracking services

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP) is the latest carrier to expand its cargo tracking capabilities, offering optional active tracking devices on its flights.
The devices can send data through telecom or other networks and provide GPS location and sensor data including information on temperature, humidity, shock/tilt and light exposure.
Customers place the tracking devices in their shipment before acceptance and take them out again after delivery at the final destination.
Senior vice president sales and distribution Christophe Boucher, said: “Our aim is to support our customers in using end-to-end tracking solutions throughout their shipment.”
Use of active tracking devices is subject to specific conditions and the devices must be approved by AFKLMP – more details here.
