SAS opts for lightweight ULDs

Scandinavian airline SAS is extending its contract with ULD service provider CHEP Aerospace Solutions.
In future, SAS will use CHEP’s 65kg containers which are over 20% lighter than its existing units and as a result will save over 13,000 tonnes of CO2 during the five-year term of the new agreement.
SAS head of network and revenue management, Kenneth Fuhrmann, said: "We have been very satisfied with CHEP’s services, people and global network in the past five years, and are pleased the new agreement will enable us to use lightweight containers.”
