IAG Cargo has appointed Lewis Girdwood, who joins the business from EasyJet, as chief financial officer.
Girdwood has more than 25 years of financial experience and previously worked as EasyJet’s head of financial planning and analysis. He replaces Sarah Nichol who has taken some time out for a sabbatical.
His role at IAG Cargo will focus on driving the business to achieve its financial and related targets, ensuring compliance with all corporate governance requirements and maintaining the right level of internal control for success.
During his seven years at EasyJet, Girdwood successfully delivered a number of business critical projects, including the 2013 fleet acquisition of the next generation airbus NEOs, enabling EasyJet to grow scale and become the UK’s largest airline.
“Lewis brings a diverse skillset drawn from multiple industries from which we as a business can learn,” said Drew Crawley, chief executive, IAG Cargo.
Girdwood added: “I was hugely impressed by the drive of Drew and the senior team at IAG Cargo to deliver a first class customer proposition. I’m delighted to be joining IAG Cargo and look forward to supporting the growth plans of the business.”
