UK-based AGI Global Logistics has appointed Alex Kelly as group operations director.

Kelly has 20 years’ experience of senior management positions within logistics and freight forwarding sectors.

His new role will oversee a broad range of elements within the business, and will include focus on areas such as operating standards, service levels and supplier relationships.

Kelly said: “I am delighted to have joined AGI Global Logistics and am looking forward to supporting the business in its plan to develop its operational capabilities to support the future growth strategy.”

The logistics and freight forwarding company became an accredited IATA Cargo Agent last year, and also achieved ISO 9001 certification.

The company also became a CASS (Cargo Accounts Settlement Systems) associate to simplify the billing between airlines and freight forwarders.

“During 2023 we plan to streamline even more of our processes. This will enable us to offer even quicker response times, and further improve our level of customer service. We will also be looking at any additional certification and accreditations available to us,” said AGI.
