AIA Cargo has appointed Colin McInnes as its new vice president cargo UK as the firm looks to expand in the country.

McInnes joins from CHAMP Cargosystems where he was head of sales and account management for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He also spent 18 years working for Swiss WorldCargo in a variety of roles, including 10 years as regional manager of UK, Ireland and the Nordics. He also led global key account management at the airline’s Zurich head office.

McInnes said he aims to “establish and maintain strong relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, and logistics providers, fostering collaboration and driving mutual growth”.

“By working closely with industry partners, Colin intends to identify and capitalise on joint business opportunities, develop innovative solutions and services, and enhance the overall customer experience,” AIA said.

AIA chief executive Mark Andrew added: “Colin was the standout candidate during our extensive search to fill this vacancy and I am looking forward to working with Colin.

“Colin will as part of our senior management team be a key asset for not only our UK set-up but also our airline development. I am sure Colin will make a valuable contribution, focusing on new airline business for the group whilst within the UK maintaining quality engagement with our existing customers.”
