Air Cargo News is delighted to announce the launch of a Young Airfreight Professional of the Year award at this year’s Air Cargo News Awards.
The new award category will recognise rising stars and future leaders from across the airfreight sector and also aims to support them in their future development.
To this end, Air Cargo News has partnered with neAira Executive Performance and SHK Solutions to provide the winner of the award and the company they represent with further development through executive performance coaching.
NeAira Executive Performance and SHK Solutions have kindly agreed to donate four months of executive performance coaching to the winner and up to five other professionals in their organisation, a package worth $10,000. The winner will also walk away with £500 in prize money from Air Cargo News.
SHK Solutions delivers high-performance coaching. Managing director Sadiya Khan said: “The Young Airfreight Professional of the Year award recognises the backbone of our industry, our people. Without those who come up with new ideas, those who have a great attitude to learning and those who consistently go the extra mile, our industry would go stale and stagnate.
“Thank you to every single one of you who gives it their best each day and goes above and beyond. Thank you to the organisations who invest wisely to provide their people with the tools and space to grow. When people grow, so do businesses.
“We feel very humbled and privileged to be part of recognising that in our industry, our people are our strength.”
Ariaen Zimmerman, founder of neAira Executive Performance, added: “We come to recognise more and more that great performers and leadership are not merely born that way.
“It is about developing talent and creating a culture and environment to bring out the best. Great performance in a professional setting is hard work and a choice, and our coaching helps people and organisations to get the best out of themselves and their teams. In our work, we have witnessed impressive growth and transformation.
“This award symbolises a shared commitment to cultivating an environment where young professionals can thrive. We are excited to help the next generation of leaders who will propel the air cargo industry forward. I invite all aspiring leaders to seize this invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills and impact their organizations profoundly.”
The judges will be looking for a person aged 30 years and under (on 31/12/2024) with a proven ability to achieve at a high level, showing initiative and demonstrating a passion for the air cargo industry.
They will need to display: passion and drive for working within the air cargo industry; dedication to the development of their company’s business; and evidence of initiative and going the extra mile.
For this category, an employee can self-nominate or be put forward by their company.
The awards are now in their 40th year and recognise the achievements of the air cargo industry – from innovative solutions for complex transport challenges to investments in new technologies, services and innovations.
There are nine trophies up for grabs and entrants have until 5pm (UK time) on Friday, June 7 to compile and submit their entries online.
The winners will be announced during a daytime awards lunch at the Royal Lancaster London hotel on October 23.
More details on how to enter, criteria for each category and tips on entering can be found at www.aircargonewsawards.net.
After the entries have been received, they will be assigned to the judges for scoring with our shortlist being announced in mid-July.
Last year, the awards ceremony was a sell-out with almost 250 air cargo executives attending, tickets are available to purchase now via our website.
