Air cargo stalwart Eric Wilson scoops Qatar Cargo role

Qatar Airways Cargo has appointed Eric Wilson to the role of senior vice president of cargo sales.
According to the airline, Wilson will oversee all aspects of cargo sales, including customer relationship management, global accounts, market development and “ensuring the highest standards of service for our customer base”.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Wilson has been working in the aviation industry since 1993 and has held several cargo leadership roles during that time.
Most recently, he was chief commercial officer at freighter operator Amerijet, although FreightWaves reports that he left the role earlier this year while the company was tackling a difficult financial performance.
He was appointed to the position in 2021 as the airline embarked on a fleet expansion plan that added several Boeing 767s to its line up.
He also worked for more than six years in cargo sales leadership roles for Delta Air Lines where his most senior role was managing director, global cargo sales. He joined the airline in 2008 initially occupying the role of general manager of strategic partner programmes at the cargo division.
He also held cargo revenue management, cargo sales and cargo marketing roles at United Airlines after joining the company in 1993.
