Tom Bellekens has been appointed chief executive of TCR, the Brussels-based ground support equipment (GSE) services provider, taking up the new role from October 1.
Bellekens, the former TCR chief operating officer, replaces Marc Delvaux who is stepping down after 20 years in the role to become a non-executive board member and chairman of TCR International.
The company said in a statement that the change in senior roles is the completion of a two year succession planning process to “guarantee a smooth transition”.
Bellekens, who is a Belgian citizen, joined TCR 16 years ago and has occupied different functions in the group, both in the Belgian headquarters as well as in country businesses. Said TCR: “Bellekens has been a key player in the impressive development of the company. He has taken an active role in determining the strategic direction of the company for many years.”
The company has an annual turnover of more than €160m, 800+ staff, 26,000 units GSE assets for rental and a presence at more than 100 airports.
Said Bellekens: “I am very honoured and humbled to be leading the company to its next destination. I can rely on a very passionate and competent team, backed by very supportive shareholders. I want to thank them and Marc for giving me the opportunity to lead this fantastic market-leading company.
“I also take this opportunity to thank all our customers, whose trust and confidence has brought us to where we are today. They can count on our full dedication to support their business going forward.”
