Digital broker CharterSync has expanded its senior management team with three appointments as the company looks to continue to expand its offering.

Chris Metters is joining in a consultant advisory role to the board as interim financial director; Hilary Blackburn will be appointed as risk management and compliance consultant; and Mark Walls has scooped the role of chief product owner.

Metters spent 28 years with air charter broker Chapman Freeborn, where he was group financial director and global special projects director and group compliance and risk officer until 2021.

Blackburn, who joins in July, has over 25 years’ experience in global corporate communications, governance, risk, compliance, and previously worked for Chapman Freeborn for 10 years, including secondments to the humanitarian cargo division.

Walls has 20 years marketing and digital innovation experience and will drive the ongoing development of CharterSync’s technology.

Co-founder and director of CharterSync, Ed Gillett, said: “It is with a lot of excitement that we welcome Chris, Hilary, and Mark to the senior CharterSync team as we embark on this next chapter of growth and product development.

“Chris Metters’ and Hilary Blackburn’s track records in air cargo brokerage, flight support, and risk and compliance, combined with their insights into delivering sustainable and scalable growth around the globe, make them a valuable addition to our senior management team.

“Metters and Blackburn will advise the board at CharterSync on its business strategy, compliance, and risk management.

“Likewise, bringing Mark Walls on board at this time cements our commitment to accelerating the global rollout of the CharterSync brand and our innovative technology across new markets and verticals.”

Further moves at CharterSync include the appointment of Abby Shillaker to the role of senior marketing executive and the promotion of former operations co-ordinator Andrew Burvill to product and customer success manager, where he will be responsible for the implementation and support of the platform whilst managing the roll-out of new feature releases to users.
