Swissport has appointed Karen Cox into the role of global director operations and safety.

In her new role, reporting to the chief executive, Cox will drive the operational transformation of Swissport and will focus on strengthening its global operations team. She will also drive operational excellence, and health and safety across the business.

Prior to joining Swissport, Cox served at EasyJet for 18 years. Her most recent role there was director of operations and customer management centres. In this role, she worked closely with Swissport, gaining operational insights from a customer perspective.

Warwick Brady, president and chief executive of Swissport International, commented: “Cox is a true aviation expert with a proven track record in operational excellence, safety management, cost control and a strong commitment to exceeding customer expectations. Safety is part of our DNA, and we work tirelessly toward the goal of zero accidents and zero work-related injuries and illnesses to prevent harm to our employees and to our customers’ property.”

Additionally, Swissport has appointed Richard Scott as interim head of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment). He will continue to develop the company’s QHSE roadmap and will report to Cox.
